In a Gallup poll in the USA in 2009 it was shown that only 29% of employees are engaged in what they do.  Engaged employees work with passion and feel a profound connection to their company.  They drive innovation and move the organization forward.  It is this 29% that goes the extra mile, actively comes up with new ideas or solutions for problems.  

 

The majority - 71% - are disengaged or actively disengaged. Disengaged employees are essentially “checked out.”  They’re sleepwalking through their workday, putting time – but not energy or passion – into their work. Actively disengaged employees aren’t just unhappy at work: they’re busy acting out their unhappiness.  Every day, these workers undermine what their engaged co-workers accomplish.  These 71% can be costing your company up to £10,000 a year.

What distinguishes the Passion Test for Business program is that we assist companies in identifying their unique contribution to its customer, clients and to the world. Using the Passion Test process we then identify the company passions and a 10, 5, and 2 year vision. This is then shared with all the employees in a workshop with all employees after they have identified their work and personal core passions.  Together we see how those individual passions are aligned with the company passions, as well as where each individual sees themslves within the company vision, hence creating contagious engagement.


A Cultural Action Plan is then drawn up and discussed with senior management.  Action steps in total alignment with the company's passions are created, assigned and agreed upon.

 

When everyone in the company, from senior management to the new trainee, is engaged in the company’s unique contribution and passions and vision, then not only is everyone happier and more productive at work, but the bottom line improves.
