Something More Aware Than Me In Me!
Welcome to March’s Connections newsletter. The theme this month is our intuitive voice and remembering to listen to it. We also have some news and great offers and as always some fun stuff!
I wrote on Facebook a couple of days ago;
“So there I was sitting on the platform waiting for the train to Luton when something inside of me said, "check your boarding pass" - and I was flying from GATWICK! Thank God there is something more aware than me in me!”
Quite a few people commented and related to the story. We all have that inner voice within us constantly guiding us as we go through life. The question is how much do we listen?
It does not matter what you choose to call that voice – your higher self, your intuition, your inner guidance, your angels. The title is immaterial. What is important is that we take note of it and we acknowledge it.
We need to cultivate the practise of listening and acting on our intuition. I notice that it is a constant flow of information if I focus on becoming aware of it. And, it is not just about the ‘big’ questions in life, it can be about “you’re about to get on the wrong train!”
Interestingly I (who?) had thought about checking my boarding pass but had been so busy leaving the house I didn’t give it top priority and so hadn’t looked at it. That ‘thought’ was also guidance but I hadn’t heard it through the din of all the other thoughts I had had at the time.
It was only as I was stopping and sitting down for a few minutes waiting for the train that I got this insistent feeling to get my boarding pass out and check. Imagine my horror when I saw Gatwick on the paper! However imagine my joy when I realised that because I had finally listened I was not on the wrong train and had plenty of time to get to Gatwick.
If we learn to listen more readily – to hear that first ‘check your boarding pass’ thought then we grow our awareness. As I said in the post on Facebook, thank God that there is something more aware than me in me!
So how do we grow that awareness? Gratitude for when we listen. If each time we discover we haven’t listened we beat ourselves up, how open do you think we will be next time guidance comes? If in our minds guidance equals giving ourselves a hard time. So instead say thank you. It does not matter whether you think you are thanking yourself or something greater than you – the outcome will be the same. You will hear more easily next time.
Your intuition always has the highest intention for your soul, your ego might not agree on some of the larger life issues but your inner voice leads you to the place where you will grow and learn the most. And as a bonus you will also get on the right train!
