Having a Vision

For the last 20 years I have read many times that it is very important to have a vision for whatever you want in your life.Perhaps you’ve heard the same – without vision there is no way you can work out your pathway to your destination. Over the years I have worked with my clients on creating a personal vision – what they would like to have their life look and feel like when they have brought everything into balance. It is always much easier to work out the steps you need to take, when you know where you are going.

Coaching - A Sign of Success

Talking with a friend recently he said he was very surprised to have read that Cherie Blair had a coach.  His take on coaching was that it was for people who were not successful, or that success eluded them, not someone who has achieved a lot in their life.  This went on to be a very interesting conversation about coaching, and how it works for different people, and one of the things I said was that coaching is a sign of success.

Choosing Your Attitude

It can be a challenging time when our world as we know it shifts beneath out feet.  One of my favourite quotes is:

Don't worry about having the carpet pulled from under your feet; learn to dance on a shifting carpet.

That's the key right now, and it all depends on where your focus is and what attitude you choose to bring to this moment.  At no point in time has it been more important to manage your mental state and choose where your mind goes and what you are focusing on.

Using This Time Wisely

As the doom and gloom merchants roll out their wares of a credit crunch it can be very off-putting if you have been thinking about changing career.  As I wrote in a recent article; Redundancy is an Opportunity, redundancy can come calling at this time and it is possible to see it as an opportunity to move into something that you really enjoy doing. But what if that isn't the case for you?  What if you have been thinking about moving into a new career and then this financial maelstrom has come along at just the wrong time.  For many the idea of changing career in this time of uncertainty is too risky.
